GABA was formed on January 15, 2003 as a non-profit,
non-governmental organization with the purpose of fostering transatlantic trade between Germany
and the U.S. The organization was formed by six founding Board members in order to
fill the void which was created by the liquidation of the German American Chamber of Commerce
of the Western United States. Soon GABA extended its reach beyond Silicon Valley, and today is
recognized as a key player by the thriving German/ American business community.

board purposefully implemented interest groups which provide deep market knowledge and support
excellent industry networking opportunities. GABA continues to evolve with diverse interest groups
reflecting today's business environment.
